THE COMPANY
UMEDIA presents international arthouse films by promising young filmmakers and renowned directors whose films distinguish themselves through innovation and originality.
UMEDIA's policy is to build a reciprocal and long lasting relationship with both directors and producers from all over the word.
Since its creation in 2004 by Frédéric Corvez, UMEDIA has always been driven by the same goal: bring quality cinema to the largest audience possible on every continents.
To maintain the same commitment and the same service on each film we represent, we've decided to acquire a maximum of seven new films a year.
In addition to the acquisition of new films, UMEDIA represents as well a library of classical movies for the French Speaking territories including acclaimed directors as Abel Ferrara, Brian de Palma, Milos Forman, Alfred Hitchcock, Jane Campion, etc.
As a producer, UMEDIA's production slate is made up of European and Latin-American Films.
In summer 2009, UMEDIA and Brazilian production company DEZENOVE, have signed a three-year multi-picture deal. UMEDIA will handle worldwide distribution and co-produce at least three films by Dezenove’s Sara Silveira. This first and last look deal has been initiated with the multi-awarded feature “The Famous and the Dead”.
The second film to be shoot in 2010 is Marcelo Gomez “Once Upon a Time Veronica”.
Upcoming films are:
“De Jueves a Domingo”, by Chilean first time Director Dominga Sotomayor
“Mobil Home” by Belgium Filmmaker François Pirot.
As a World Sales Company and a Producer, UMEDIA can also bring ideas and solutions to producers and filmmakers by looking for pre-sales, international co-productions and establish marketing strategies.
